The PACE Green Business Plan Competition encourages hands-on, experiential learning through the development of a written plan for a business that helps solve an environmental issue and a pitch to adults familiar with business enterprises.

In this capstone Economics project, students collaborate in teams to shape ideas into marketable products or services and create business plans addressing a variety of criteria to increase the likelihood of success and sustainability.

In preparing for the competition, students employ the acquired knowledge from their Economics class, their ability work with their teams, their growing entrepreneurial skills and their grasp of environmental issues and solutions gained from their Advanced Placement Environmental Science Class.

2020-21 Presented many new challenges. Despite these challenges our students were able to create over 50 environmental business plans working closely with the Rotary Club of Long Beach. We had 8 finalist teams pitch their business ideas in the Andrew Osman Performing Arts Center to judges, parents, classmates and other guests.
